We value prayer.
We believe that prayer is a priority of the church family. Intimacy with Jesus Christ is only developed through a devoted prayer life. We know that the effectiveness of ministry is based on our dependence to rely upon the power of God through corporate and personal prayer. The prayer life of the church should be characterized by persistence and intercession. (1 Thes. 5:17, 2 Chron. 7:15, Matt. 21:13)
We value worship.
At our core, we are a worshipping community. The highest calling of the church is to worship God. Our worship services provide opportunities for corporate and individual praise to God. Our services proclaim the life-changing message of Christ. We believe worship is always Christ-centered in its focus, relevant in its form, and life-changing in its result. It also provides ministry for members and an entry point for our community.(
Matt. 22:36-37, Psalm 95:6)
We value the Bible.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is our final authority and contains all we need for life. It is God’s love letter to us as it reveals His grace extended to us in Christ. We seek not only to know His Word but to apply it to every area of life. The Bible is the way to show that all people can have salvation through Jesus Christ. The basis for all teaching, instruction, and discipleship comes from our obedience to the Word of God. We believe it is historical in its origin, relevant in its nature, and life-changing in its application.
(2 Tim. 3:16-17, Acts 2:42, Is. 40:8, Psalm 119:105)
We value evangelism.
We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the primary message of the church. Every believer is called to a life of evangelism as they seek opportunities daily to share the Gospel of salvation. We are striving to be a Great Commission church. We believe the strategy for global evangelization is found in Acts 1:8, that calls us to start in our community and extend into worldwide missions. We believe every member is called to reach the lost for Jesus Christ.
(Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8 )
We value discipleship.
The purpose of the church is to make disciples. Discipleship is the process by which the life of Jesus Christ is formed in a believer’s life. We believe age-appropriate learning, primarily in small groups, is the most effective way to accomplish personal growth in Christ. These groups are designed for the equipping of every person to mirror Christ-likeness. The goal of discipleship is to intentionally develop every Christian toward full maturity and to produce disciples who are fully in love with Jesus Christ. The mature disciple produces other disciples.
(John 15:5, Lk.
9:23, Matt. 28:16-20, Eph. 2:11)
We value fellowship.
The church is a new community of common faith in Jesus Christ. Community is “common unity” that is centered on Jesus Christ and is His visible Body in the world. We practice biblical relationship principles in order to guard our unity with a passion. Authentic community is a potent witness in our world that is devoid of community elsewhere. When biblical community is intentionally observed, believers are uplifted, grace is extended and the result is empowered service in ministry to one another and to the lost.
(Acts 2:42-47, Philippians 2:1-18)
We value ministry.
We believe that every member is a minister, called and gifted for service. As a member combines his/her talents, passion, personality, and spiritual gifts, a dynamic, Kingdom-building ministry results. Ministry should always be done for the sake of Christ, to glorify Him. Every member should exemplify the nature and character of Christ in ministry to each other and to the world.
(Eph. 4:11, 1 Cor. 9:22-23)
We value excellence.
We strive towards excellence in everything because excellence honors God. We desire to proclaim God’s character and majesty. He deserves our best and the world will see our commitment to Him through our commitment to excellence. We believe God will provide the necessary people and resources to do ministry with excellence or we will not do it. Primarily, God seeks excellence of character because God looks at the heart. Ministry done with excellence worships God.
(Philippians 4:8, Rev. 4:11)
We value relevance.
We desire to communicate the never-changing Word of God in an ever-changing culture. We believe our message of the Gospel will never change but our methods must. Because our culture’s philosophies, attitudes, and values are constantly in flux, we must remain relevant in order to present the unchanging Truth of Jesus Christ.
(1 Cor. 9:19-27, John 3:17)
